Is Exercising At Home Better than the Gym?
Which is the quickest way to achieving weight loss? Working out at home or at the gym?
Sometimes people train at the gym for a long time without getting the desired result. It can be frustrating and discouraging. However the five most important reasons that makes home training much more effective than gym training have been enumerated below:
1. No hassle, No Fuss
A lot of reasons can prevent you from getting to the gym but nothing can prevent you from being at home. You could mistakenly oversleep, it could suddenly start raining, your nearest gym may be too far to your house and there could be so many other things that would prevent you from going to the gym. You won’t do any exercise on the days you are not able to make it to the gym. Secondly, it may not be the gym session that would put you off but how to get to the gym itself. All these reasons can not affect people who do their workouts at home. If it takes you 15 minutes to get to the gym and another 15 minutes to get back home, you could add the 30 minutes to your workout sessions if you were doing the exercises at home.
2. You Can Get Distracted
While in the gym; you may be tempted to break your workout to catch up with an old friend. You may even be asked a question by an acquaintance of yours. While doing your workout, you may be attracted by some discussions or gossips because it concerns you directly or indirectly. If that happens, you may be forced to end your workouts prematurely. The worst of it is that your friend could ask for some smoke breaks. You need a lot of discipline to overcome such temptations. But if you do your exercises at home, none of those distractions would come up.
3. Self-Consciousness (people are watching) When you are at the gym, you are always conscious of the fact that people are watching you. That would affect you negatively. You may not be able to do a particular exercise as much as you want to because you think people may start laughing at you for one reason or the other. All these affect the effectiveness of your workouts. If you were at home, you won’t need to worry about people around you. And you will do your workouts as much as you want to.
4. Having to Share Gym Equipment
Most gyms are always crowded between 7pm and 9pm every weekday. When you go to the gym then, you are likely to share the equipments with some other people. Sharing with people means cutting down the length for which you intended to use a particular machine. That would tell on the effectiveness of your workouts. However, if you do your workouts at home, you won’t need to share any equipment with anybody. Even if you do not have any of those sophisticated equipments, you can still have a very good exercise sessions if you know the right exercises to do.
5. Gym is not Free
Every gym will charge you for their services, except if your employer foots the bill for you. Most of the gym users do not utilize their membership to capacity. Why not do your exercises at home and save yourself the monthly expense? Home sessions are the best for beginners. When you have built your body and muscle to a certain level and you need to move to a higher level, then you can opt for gym workouts and make use of their sophisticated equipments.
What is important is the right set of exercises that affect every part of your body. The exercises have to enhance muscle building and weight loss.
