Motivation to Succeed


Motivation to exercise or motivation to succeed in anything is very important because it goes a long way in driving you towards your goal no matter what the goal is. Fitness, weightlifting, weight loss and even maintaining a healthy lifestyle all require some form of motivation. Motivation is simply defined as the mental feature that stimulates an individual’s continuous actions towards a particular goal. People decide to work towards a goal and fizzle out halfway without achieving the set goals because of lack of motivation.

Now that the importance of motivation has been talked about, you may think you have motivated yourself enough. You will start on a very good note. Along the way, the regular weight loss workouts may become more challenging. When this reality begins to dawn on you, the number of hours you spend on a daily workout would start reducing. It would start getting worse. If you used to do some exercises daily, it would reduce to three or two times in a week and it will eventually stop completely.  You will start eating some of the forbidden foods gradually, and you will eventually slide back to your old eating habits. This would happen so fast because most of these forbidden foods generally taste better than their recommended substitute. For a stronger motivation, you would need some fitness motivational quotes and weight lifting quotes. These quotes would motivate, inspire and drive you towards your weight loss goals.

Desire also works in tandem with motivation. If you do not have enough desire, you may never get enough motivation. Strong desire first, then strong motivation would follow. You need to ask yourself the following questions, how much do you need this weight loss program? How important is shedding your weight to you? How much efforts and time are you willing to give to make it happen? A very strong desire is absolutely unstoppable. If your desire to lose weight is really strong, then you are likely to pull it through no matter the challenges you face.

To keep yourself motivated enough to keep going, here are a few tips for you. Visualize what you want to achieve and have a mental picture of it, put these dreams into writing and put them in as many places as possible, writing down and following your daily goals, setting a date for a certain goal or setting a date by which you must have shed a certain amount of weight and monitoring your progress. These tips would help you not only in your fitness quest but all other endeavors. You should also have a scale on which you check your weight regularly. The discovery of a little reduction in your weight will motivate you even further.  

In addition to the given tips, it is advisable to get a partner that shares your quest. He’ll motivate you further and both of you may even get competitive about it. Imagine, what would you do if your partner tells you that he has noticed a reduction in his weight and you check yours and there is no reduction? You will certainly double your efforts. After doing some exercise together, you may be tempted to do an additional exercise secretly. The silent competition between both of you will keep you motivated.

Everybody is advised to live a healthier life and maintain his/her shape. Taking the right diet plan is not for only overweight people because everybody who is not overweight has its tendency and the earlier they change their diet the better. Maintaining your shape is much easier than trying to lose weight. Taking the decision is difficult for people but it is a must. Procrastination could be dangerous in this issue. Knowing the right answers to the following questions may help you take the very first step. “Why Eat Healthy?”, "Why Be Fit?", and "Why Lift Weights?"  Adjusting to certain changes could be difficult initially, but the difficulty would be overcome with persistence as it is the key to success. If these unhealthy and delicious meals never existed, human beings would still live. If they are wiped from existence we will all still survive, won’t we? You should take it from there. The decision is up to you. But it must be armed with enough desire.
