Can I Drink Alcohol and Still Lose Weight?

Weight loss is not rocket science. The only way to effectively get rid of that excess fat is to ensure that your calories consumption is not more than what your body burns on a daily basis. Using this method is the only natural way to lose weight, although it does not consider how healthy you are. It allows you to consume any kind of foods, and still be able to lose weight as long as you are able to burn more calories than you consume. So, it is possible for you to take alcohol and still lose weight.
One reason for eating food is to replenish our energy through the calories that are contained in the foods. In the same way that your car burns up fuel, your body also burns up calories. Just like a lot of beverages, alcohol also contains calories. Your weight loss has nothing to do with whether you take alcohol or not. However, the quantity that you consume, in terms of calories, is what may affect your ability to lose weight.
A lot of people are of the opinion that taking alcohol causes your fat level to increase. They recommend that in trying to lose weight, you should avoid taking alcohol because it affects your body’s metabolism. It has also been shown in some studies that were conducted that your body’s ability to metabolize fat is greatly reduced, even when your alcohol consumption is very little. So every time you have a drink, your body burns the fat much slower. If you are very serious about losing weight, then this is something that you should consider.
It is obvious that the different methods to lose weight are not all as effective. If your daily alcohol consumption is about 1200 calories (which is about one 12-pack of light beer), you will still be able to lose weight. However, this choice is not very healthy. Even with a daily consumption of one double whopper with cheese (about 1000 calories), you will still lose weight. But obviously, that is not a healthy option.
Without any risk to your health, you can still have a beer or glass of wine occasionally, even when are on a weight loss plan. Some foods are more appropriate than others, and this also applies to alcohol. You should do a research on the different types of alcohol available and which better suits your health needs. For instance, it has been proven that there are some health benefits when you take red wine. But, taking more than one glass becomes risky.
There are different amount of calories in all alcohol, and you should take note of the amount in your choice of drink. One way to find out is to count the calories and double it to determine how it will affect your metabolism. I do not recommend that you take more than one alcoholic drink daily, but with this little trick you can still enjoy the occasional drink without destroying your desire to lose weight.
